MESSAGE FROM THE SECRETARIAT
SECRETARY GENERAL
KRISHA CHAWDA

Dear Delegates, It is truly an honour to welcome you to JB MUN 2026. My name is Krisha Chawda, and I will be your secretary general for this conference.
“You are never too young to lead, and you should never doubt your capacity to triumph where others have not.”
This is a quote I have found myself thinking about often. I have always been fascinated by the way that political decisions, conflicts and global events affect us and how they play a role in our daily lives even though we might not recognise it.
Over time I have realised that understanding these issues about our world is a lot more impactful than just reading about them. This became clear to me when I had attended a summer camp hosted by Seeds of Peace, where I had the opportunity to meet people from different parts of the world. We came from different countries and cultures, but I think some of the most meaningful moments of my time there were the moments when we simply listened to one another. The experience taught me the nuances of listening and to be more mindful and aware of the world around us, to be deeply aware that the world is so much bigger than any one of us.
This is what I hope JBMUN gives to you. I hope that you challenge yourself and your own ideas, listen to perspectives that differ from your own and leave with more curiosity about the world around you. Most of all, I hope that these three days become more than just a conference.
I hope that you leave with conversations you remember, people who made you think differently and questions that stay with you long after this conference ends. And if there's one thing I hope you take from this conference, it is that you are never too young to make a difference and your age does not determine the impact you have, no matter what anyone else says. I hope you enjoy every moment of JBMUN 2026, and I cannot wait to see what you make of it.
Sincerely,
Krisha Chawda,
Secretary General,

DEPUTY SECRETARY GENERAL
MEDHA GOENKA

Dear Delegates, It is my utmost honor and greatest pleasure to welcome you to JBMUN 2026 as your Deputy Secretary General for this conference. On behalf of the entire secretariat, I can assure you that your experience at JBMUN will be one you’ll remember long after you put your placards away. This year is an extremely special edition as it marks the tenth year of our conference: ten years brimming with diplomacy, statesmanship, and mediation.
Three years ago, I sat in committee nervous, overwhelmed, and trying to take it all in while staying in the moment. If you would have told that version of me that three years in, she’ll be on the other side of the auditorium, and experiencing an entirely different aspect of the conference, I don’t think she would believe you. If I’m being honest, it still feels like a dreamy haze. Today, I look back at my past experiences at JBMUN as fond memories, filled with the most exhilarating debates I’ve experienced and the best people I’ve met till date. But at the end of the day, understanding and learning to appreciate new perspectives: whether that means listening to other portfolios and their arguments with a more open mind, or approaching speaking with less anxiety and nervousness, is where the roots of MUN lie. If I want there to be one thing you take away from JBMUN this year, I hope it’s greater value for the decisions you take.
The choices you make go far beyond the walls of committee, translating into how you question international affairs and how you interpret headlines of the real world.I can’t wait to meet all of you this October and I look forward to a conference full of productive debate, impactful resolutions, but most importantly, delegates who believe in themselves and the power of their opinion. I wish you the best of luck for the conference, and I hope that JBMUN’s 10th edition leaves you a more confident, informed, and empathetic individual, with enough memories to last you until the next edition. My warm regards,
Medha Goenka
Deputy Secretary General
